Three great weekly comedy shows

From the newsdesk

Grassroots Comedy DC is proud to have three great (and free!) weekly stand-up comedy shows in our ranks right now. All three are bringing ever bigger and more enthusiastic audiences and showcase some of DC’s best comedic talent.

The flagship show is the one at Black Whiskey on Tuesdays (8pm), run by Chris Brandt and Max Wolfson. It seems that every week the crowd is bigger and crazier, which is good.

Also run by Brandt is the Sunday night show at the Petworth Citizen and Reading Room (8pm). This show is amazing because it’s technically in a tiny library, which gives it a certain air of high-mindedness.

The newest addition to the lineup is Brock Snyder (guru of the infamous outdoor comedy shows during the warmer months) and Jess Feeney’s Friday night show at Philos (9:30pm). Now in its sixth week, the show is going fantastic, proving that Mass Ave’s soulless apartment complexes don’t have totally soulless occupants.

Any of these shows will give you a great night of gut laughing; certainly worth the price of admission, which, again, is free.
